| Hello Scotty, How’s it going in Tennessee? I bet it’s nice compared to Huston. I’m in CA and there’s a mass exodus as well here. Looking to buy a new car and stuck between two. American vs Japanese. 2021 Buick Encore GX or 2021 Honda Civic hatchback sport. I’ve watched your videos for a long time and can already hearing you saying go with the Honda. I would typically agree but value your opinion. What is you overall opinion on each in a more general sense? i started reading up on the engine and transmission combinations for both manufacturers and had som ... | |||||

| Not many people remember that engine was derived from the old Buick aluminum V8 of the early 1960s. It's basically that engine with two cylinders removed and the block cast in iron instead of aluminum. That original V6 was sold to Kaiser in 1967 for use in Jeeps, and AMC acquired the engine with the purchase of Jeep in 1970. Then AMC sold the V6 back to Buick in 1973, preferring their own inline six. (Buick actually wanted AMC to sell them complete engines but the latter didn't want to retool to produce them, so sold everything back to Buick.) Being deve ... | |||||
| Answer to: Your Perspective On All New Buicks? | 33Relevance | 4 years ago | Kaizen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| IMHO, Buick doesn’t exist anymore. GM is milking the last ounce of Buick that it can. It seems to now be the SUV/Crossover brand for GM. Trucks go to GMC. Luxury goes to Cadillac. And SUV/Crossover goes to Buick. And Chevy has a mix of all of the above sans the luxury. It’s not exact, but that is generally how I see it. They also own other brands which aren’t in the US. For most of Buick’s existence, it has used GM platforms, and it added a Buick personality to these GM platforms. Since GM has gotten more and more global, Buick has adopted platforms ... | |||||
| Answer to: What are your opinions on buicks? | 33Relevance | 5 years ago | Elon Dusk | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My first car was a 2006 Buick and it was a nightmare. It started to have problem at 60k miles. Firstly, the timing belt randomly snapped when I was driving and I lost control of the steering wheel. Lucky for Buick, I was in a parking lot. If I was on the road, GM would be slapped with a lawsuit. Then not long after, the fuel injector went bad. Next, something went wrong with electrical system. Next, the AC went out in the middle of the summer. I don’t understand why people buy Buick. None of the vehicle look better than the Highlander or the RAV4. They are ... | |||||

| 2008 Buick Lacrosse Burning Oil | 31Relevance | 2 years ago | BuickLacrosseOwner | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I own a 2008 Buick Lacrosse CX with the 3.8L V6, and I recently had an oil change about 3K Miles ago and I had a "Low Oil" message pop up on my Information Dash. So I check the dipstick and its low, how low? 2qts low. I feel like 2Qts is alot of oil to be burned up just after 3K miles. Keep in my mind it only has 91,500 Miles on the car. Any ideas on if this is normal or not? | |||||

| 2006 Buick Lacrosse 3.8L jerks between 1800-2200RPM and 45-60mph | 31Relevance | 4 years ago | Th0mathy | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey scotty, I have a 2006 Buick Lacrosse 3.8L. I bought it about a year ago and it's been decent. However, for the last month it's been jerking back and forth. The RPMs jump back and forth between 1800 and 2200 RPM when I'm going between 45 and 60 MPH. Whenever I accelerate hard it doesn't do it, and it doesn't do it at any other speeds. What could be causing this? I heard it could be a fuel pump but I'd like a second opinion. Thanks. | |||||
| 2011 Buick LaCrosse P0420 Code | 31Relevance | 4 years ago | Jenaguayo89 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2011 Buick Lacrosse with a 3.6L. It is automatic and has about 86k miles on it. My check engine light came on yesterday, and it threw a P0420 code. It ran fine yesterday, noticed it was a little sluggish for about 5 minutes and drove it again today and it seemed to be fine. I took it to the repair shop and he said it needs a new catalytic converter without even looking at the car. Is it this or could it be a 02 sensor I keep seeing that could be the possible culprit? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. | |||||
| Answer to: Automatic 2007 Buick Lacrosse CXL 208,000 miles | 31Relevance | 2 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You probably destroyed the transmission's intercooler. Transmission fluid is hydraulic and needs a place to dump excess heat into the air. That's the lowest part of your vehicle that's still somewhat protected. Why did you risk driving your car if you couldn't see the damage beforehand? Calling a cab is a much easier option than your transmission going out. | |||||
| Buick Lacrosse 2008 rough idle issue | 31Relevance | 3 years ago | redredredredred | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My car (buick Lacrosse 2008 CXL) automatic started rough idling at 179,000 miles... It eats oil a bit (dont know how much as of yet) and I think I am losing coolant because the intake manifold has a leak down one side. Has oil, has new spark plugs and wires and replaced a bad ignition coil. Still rough idles slightly after wire and plug change but I get really decent gas mileage 24mpg which isnt bad. Fuel meter is acting a bit funky as of late, sometimes moving quite a bit while driving. Codes are P0128, P0171, P0411. I'm in a rustbelt state (PA)... RPMS wiggling also only in idle. It runs amazing on the highway where I drive it but at the 1 minute red lights it does tend to shake a small amount... Also when I start it it revs high at 1.5x rpms then goes back down to the usual .8x rpms... I changed the purge valve also... The heat meter has never been above half while I watch it while driving... Oil is perfectly clean as of last oil change, no milkshake action... Thank you!!!! | |||||
| Answer to: 2015 Buick Lacrosse 2.4 Hybrid | 31Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Junk. Just a poorly built car with the added negatives of aging batteries and complex tech that will fall apart at some point. I'd politely inform him that he can tell those jokes to someone else. $12k? 8 year old GM "hybrid"???? The downside if the money you will pay to replace that battery when it goes out. And let's not forget that those batteries and hybrid tech do NOTHING, it consumes fuel and pollutes like there's no tomorrow FOR REFERENCE, this is how much DECENT hybrids (which that GM ain't) perform. (am not recommending the ioniq, but that's what a hybrid should do) | |||||
