Automatic 2007 Buick Lacrosse CXL 208,000 miles I hit a parking bump with the front bottom part of my car drove it later and smoke started coming out from the hood and it stopped accelerating and reversing with liquid leaking couldn't tell what kind because it happened at night

You probably destroyed the transmission's intercooler. Transmission fluid is hydraulic and needs a place to dump excess heat into the air. That's the lowest part of your vehicle that's still somewhat protected. Why did you risk driving your car if you couldn't see the damage beforehand? Calling a cab is a much easier option than your transmission going out.

I know I shouldn't of risked it but I checked underneath their were no leaks at the moment of the bump. It looked like motor oil that was spilled but the car still turns on it just won't drive forward or reverse

I'm thinking had it been the transmission it wouldn't even turn on

Starting the car has no bearing on the health of the transmission. They are completely separate systems. As long as you have a power source, you can start the car and it will run just fine. When it's time to put the transmission into gear, then it's time for the transmission to do its thing. It's not doing its thing (being taken out of park).

That was transmission fluid.

You need to take the car to a good mechanic (not the dealership, and not a chain shop like pep boys)

Yes your right. It was transmission fluid.
