| No crank, no start | 26Relevance | 3 years ago | Lucario950 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey everyone, I am back with a car question. My dad has a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country with approximately 245,000 miles on it. Yesterday, my dad went to start the van to warm it up, it ran fine, drove fine, and he went to work early to fill up some fuel. He told me it started and ran just fine that night. After work, he didn't let it warm up enough, but he done this before, and it didn't hurt the van. He said when it was cold, it ran rough, but ran fine a few minutes later. When he went to start it tonight, it wouldn't run. It would crank but no start. ... | |||||
| Answer to: Subaru Sambar Kei truck with Super Charge... is it worth it? Any experience on highways? | 26Relevance | 4 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| @dan, I wouldn't say I know a lot about them, especially the newer Sambars, but I'm probably about the only U.S. based person on the board here who has actually owned a Kei van and driven it on the road. That was quite some time ago, it was a 1970 Subaru 360 "Sambar" van that I owned in the 1980s. They were sold here in the U.S. for a short time from about 1968-1970. Due to light weight and tiny engine size they were exempt at that time from safety and emission standards. The thing is though, that old Subaru van was very different than the Kei vans being so ... | |||||

| ... torn and slinging grease in the wheel well area. Since he was already replacing the control arms, I said to go ahead and replace the CV axial too. About an hour into the job I took a look to see their progress. I discovered they had the engine jacked up either on the oil pan / transmission pan (couldn't tell). When they removed the CV axial a of fluid came out from the transfer case. Mechanic said he poured back 2 quarts back into the transmission. Mechanic then drove the van to get the alignment completed - had to drive down the street as he didn't h ... | |||||

| I know I like them a lot as well especially because it has a lot of configurations. Officially, Cargo van, Crew van, Passenger van, Cab Chasis, with 4 cylinder gas, 6 cylinder diesel, 4 cylinder diesel, or 6 cylinder diesel 4X4. There is also a 12 passenger or 15 passenger choise. You can pick how high the roof is and payload. It is a nice concept. Also btw the Sprinter is absolutely excellent compared to the awful Metris van. The Benz Metris is horrible. I just want to put that out there. | |||||

| hi. one day the van coughed when starting up. i smelled a slight and brief burning smell. while driving it, i noticed the battery gauge was flat lined. all the other gauges looked normal. i turned off the a/c and drove it 40 miles to a garage. i suspected the alternator. so did they. they removed the alternator and found that it was ok and reinstalled it. they called and said the problem was the master fuse and replaced it. when i got the van back, the a/c blew warm air and the radio is dead. now they said the a/c compressor is no good. not sure what hap ... | |||||

| Answer to: Volkswagen Eurovan/Transporter: Are they good vans? | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| (From the perspective of a wagon and van enthusiast:) The Volkswagen Eurovan (T4 Transporter) isn’t a good van, the VR6 or the I5 petrol engines form what I herd are not reliable and are complex piles of trash, and I never saw the D and TD series of engines. Also avoid VW automatics, I herd they’re built even worse then their newer DSG money pits. If you know how to fix your cars by your self and how to order obsolete parts from Europe and just REALLY like that van - why not, there’s a whole community around these older VW vans as they’re pretty special. ... | |||||

| Hi folks, My van: 2003 plate, 2.0L, 1995cc diesel, manual van with 100,000miles. I've been watching Scotty Kilmer for years, and I've had a van in the UK for a bit longer at 15 years. 3yr old second hand. Never broke down - took Scotty's advice with the service intervals. At exactly 100,000 miles the fuel injection pump broke, and it opened a real can of worms that I haven't been able to untangle because nobody will give me a straight answer. Here are the opinions: The diagnostic guy said Vauxhall tie the serial numbers of parts to the ECU. Vauxhall soft ... | |||||

Because it is such a big vehicle that it will wear out the drive system faster due to being under powered and have to over work the engine. The reason I am looking for your Input is because I have not seen a video from anyone that is not payed to give a positive review of the van. Thanks for your input as we are looking to get a newer van because out 2013 sienna with 110K Has failing val ... | |||||
