What are some Reliable Work Vans from 2012-2020?

My father is thinking about purchasing a new work van to replace is aging 97 Chevy Express 2500.  That van was very reliable, especially considering his neglect of regular maintenance on the van.  We want a reliable work van, but we've seen Shorts on YouTube say how Ford transits go through transmissions and engines quickly, and obviously we know how Scotty says that Nissans, modern Chevies, Dodge, and Mercedes products are poor quality and hard to work on.  What vans are reliable and fairly easy to work on?

This has been discussed numerous times before with a lot of good insight.  Do a search first on our forum (so those typed words from previous discussions don’t go to waste) and if there are follow up questions, please let us know.

Use the search bar for in-depth answers, this has been asked a few times as far as I know.

Modern day diesel Sprinter vans are recommended by Scotty and they are pretty good vans as long as you have the money to buy and maintain it. The Chevy Express is an ok van, low GM quality but mechanically reliable enough to consider. The Transit is an OK van at best, you are right that the engine and transmissios don't hold up beyond 100k miles.

I think if you have a good budget to get a diesel Sprinter, if you are more on a budget heck the Chevy Express has barely changed since 1997 if you were happy with the old one just get a early 2010s model and you should be relatively happy.
