| ... of its life and the problems it has are more expensive to fix than the vehicle is worth. Unfortunately, all 3 options that come closest to fitting my needs and are within my budget are Dodge and I've seen your videos on how you feel about Dodge. With how slim and overpriced the used car market is I just don't have much to work with. The classic "stuck between a rock and a hard place" situation. My budget is about $4500 cash and I am comfortable financing about $2000 if needed. Things I am looking for in a vehicle other than the typical things like reasona ... | |||||

| Dakota intake manifolds are a two part affair. They are known to suck oil out of the engine. Typically the intake gaskets themselves don't give many problems. However, it's worth checking out. Is there some way to test for coolant in the exhaust? Larry | |||||
| Dodge Dakota shutting down erractically | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | jmrut | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My neighbor has a 2003 dodge Dakota that will start sputtering and then shut down erratically. All he has to do is remove the battery cable and reconnect and it will start running again. He has taken it to several mechanics and the Dodge dealership and no one can find what the issue is. It happens quite regularly. He is willing to pay to have it fixed but he can't find anyone that can figure out the issue. Hoping someone here might have seen this issue. | |||||

| How do I fix 2001 dodge Dakota misfire | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Griff79 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| CRISIS!!! I watch all your posts everyday while I’m at the gym at work at home. I have a 2001 dodge Dakota 4.7 liters 8 cylinder manual truck with 116000 miles. Code p0302 came up I replaced all spark plugs and coils and after that the care is throwing codes p0302 and p0352 codes and the truck is running horrible. Any ideas of what I can do. Oreillys mentioned a cam shaft sensor needs to be replaced and if not a valve cover gasket. Thanks for having the time to read my question. | |||||

| I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota st 3.7l v6 4x4 121000 miles I have a test fail but unsure if it is actually the charcoal canister? The blue driver module tells me this information Purge flow Monitor Test Fail Only other data showing is Mid 3D Tid 83 Min False max False Val True? This is Mode 6 data by the way. There are no lights on the dash just run the test and it showed up. I know the purge valve under the hood was just replaced in the last year because the local mechanic said that was the issue. Now it has returned?? rest of the mode 6 data is fine nothing ... | |||||
| 2008 Dodge Dakota 3.7L dies randomly while idle or driving | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Michigan Man | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My Dakota with 140K miles seems to just shut off randomly, whether on the road or in the driveway. Codes thrown are P0300, P0335, P1128, and P1129. Have already replaced the MAP sensor, camshaft sensor, and crankshaft sensor because those are cheap. Tested fuel pressure and swapped the fuel pump relay for another known working relay, no luck there. When reading live data from the scan tool, throttle position % is visibly wrong from observing the butterfly, LOAD_PCT is at 43% when idle, and spark advance fluctuates 30 degrees when idle. I've jiggled every sin ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2007 Dodge Dakota NO REVERSE | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If this is the original transmission, I'm quite impressed it went this long. A friend of mine had a 2005 Dakota with that same engine and transmission, his bit the dust at 105k and he had it replaced. The first thing I would do is check your fluid level. Low fluid can cause reverse to act up because it requires high pressure to engage properly. Given the mileage, your transmission's probably on its way to retirement. Reverse in an automatic transmission requires higher pressure to engage than the forward gears as I mentioned, and is usually the first ... | |||||

| Hi scotty, I have a 2006 dodge Dakota with a gertrag 238 6speed manual and 3.7 v6 around 52,000 miles. The speedometer froze and abs light came on going down the highway. The issue fixed itself after pulling over, and comes back intermittently. I replaced the vss on top of the differential twice, once with a Dorman sensor and then a car quest one. The abs light is now off but speedometer and odometer do not work also the seat belt dinner does not sound I'm assuming because it can't tell the speed. I have a basic scanner and keep getting a p501 code, gener ... | |||||

| I have a 2005 dodge Dakota st 3.7 liter v6 automatic 4x4 with 112000 miles on it. I just changed The transmission fluid and filter and put a new gasket on it because found out the previous mechanic did not do it even though he was paid to do it. Everything is good and no leaks but I checked the fluid level after warming up and driving for a while in neutral with the hand brake on. It was in the upper range of full or hot not over. But when I checked it the next morning when cold it was about a quart over? So yet again checked it after driving and warming i ... | |||||

| Dakota Rough High Idle | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | 0ld Hickory | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2002 Dakota Sport Quad Cab 4.7 4x4 Automatic 170,000 Miles. Recently had a P0171 code and very high and erratic rpm at idle. 1500 rpm I replaced the upstream O2 sensor. The code went away. Since then the idle is still high at start up (1000rpm) and it has a hard start when cold. I tried your vacuum test with a cigar. No leaks detected. Could this be the fuel pump going out? I have read they are known to fail. Thanks for all you do, great videos. | |||||
