| Answer to: looking to buy a cheap more modern car | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | Deathmetaljunkie420 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| From my point of view, I think you're fine with your Corolla. Those cars can last for a good amount of time as long as you take care of it by changing the oil after 5K miles and changing the belt after every 100K miles on it as well for example. If you're wanting a newer used car, the fusion can be great cars. Again, as long as you maintain it well enough it'll be very dependable. Just know that even though part of the fusion was made by Volvo, it still doesn't beat your current car. | |||||
| Answer to: I bought a salvage vehicle from a used car dealer and am curious what the most logical approach would be here. | 14Relevance | 2 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| That's why you should've had a mechanic check it out, first. They're out there, before I bought my blue 2013 Ford fusion, I was interested in a black Ford fusion from the same year at another dealership that was basically a buy-here-pay-here dealership. When I saw the title had been a salvage car, I ran away from that. Even farther back, when I was shopping for my 2nd car, and my first time financing something, another buy-here-pay-here joint had a car that had at least two accidents and the dealer "forgot" to turn off the blown airbags alert. I ran awa ... | |||||

| Answer to: Mondeo opinions | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... Diesel Mondeo used to be reasonably good cars before Ford decided to equip 2010s models with PowerShift. In the US, there was no Mondeo, the only Car sold in the US based on the CD132 platform was the Jaguar X-Type. And neither was the later gen, they were based on the EUCD platform, the only cars using it in the US were Volvos. The first (and last) Mondeo to be similar to a US market market car was the MK V ( basically is a Ford fusion) US market big(er) Ford sedans of that time were based on Mazdas (Ford CD3 - Ford fusion / Mazda 6), not Jag/Vol ... | |||||

| ... you bench-bleed the new master cylinder? Thowing parts at a problem rarely has a good result and it sounds like a fully-loaded parts cannon was employed here. In any event, a lot of ABS-equipped cars require a bidirectional scan tool for bleeding the brakes however I don't know if the fusion is one of them. This video purports to show a successful bleeding procedure for the 2011-2012 fusion, so it may help: | |||||
| Buy or stay away? Carfax Recalls.... | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | Maverick817 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Recently needing to purchase a new (used) vehicle, so the 1st thing I did was go to Scotty's YouTube channel and get his opinion on it. Saw his Top 5 Used Cars and 4th on that list was a 2012 Ford fusion. Found this car a local dealership, but haven't gone to check it out yet. This 2012 fusion has only 35k miles on it and since it was on Scotty's list figured it was worth it. But I was able to see Carfax online and saw it had like 3 or 4 recalls on it. Should I buy it or run away? Below is the link for the Carfax: Thank you. | |||||

| Thanks. Its 5 years old. I just randomly check it with my OBDII Scanner because I tested it on my buddy's fusion and his old fusion Hybrid '15 came back without any Error codes so I thought the scanner was just not scanning correctly and when I scanned it on mine, bam! Error codes. | |||||
| Answer to: Alternative fuel sources, electricity vs other alternative fuel sources | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Electric cars are the past, they were very popular over 100 years ago. There is no need for alternative fuel sources. Until we have something like portable fusion reactors ("Mr. fusion") electric cars are a boondoggle. | |||||

| A non-EcoBoost fusion is decent enough. That's the 2.5L, 2.0 and 1.5 are EcoBoost turbos. I'm not sure I would drive a used fusion like that, I'd spend a little more and get a Camry or an Accord if she drives that much. | |||||
| Answer to: Ecoboost I-engine vs Ecoboost V-engine | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| This is kind of a toss-up. The inline EcoBoost engines don't have twin turbos, so they are theoretically less expensive to fix if a turbocharger goes bad. They're older than the new Ranger and Maverick. The Mustang got the EcoBoost 2.4L in 2015, the Escape and fusion got them in 2013, both were 1.6L and 2.0 models. Other Ford vehicles may have had them before this, but as far as I know, this is around when they went mainstream. The problem with both of these engine designs is the vehicles are generally too large for the engine size without the turbos, and ... | |||||
| Answer to: Is it better to buy a car with cash or monthly payments? | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... at the time of transaction. You have a lot more haggling power than the guy who gets 8% dealer financing. You can always walk away, and they won't get a sale. Every car from a dealer that I've bought, I bought this way. They'll try to nickel and dime, but don't let them. When I bought my 2013 Ford fusion, I had the branch manager of my credit union talk to their sales manager because my sales guy wouldn't budge on $200. The manager overruled the salesman, he wanted the sale bad enough. A trick a car salesman friend told me once when dealing cars. When ... | |||||
| Answer to: Cheap scan tool to check transmission temp? | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | golem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I used the manufacturer's directions to do a fluid/filter change on my 2016 4Runner. None of my decent (~500-700$) scan tools would show it. Crazy, and there are actually two sensors!!! In my case, had to use a Carista dongle and the OBD fusion App which together were about 125$ or so... I just decided that since I will be changing the fluid pretty regularly it was a small investment taken over the long term. I have no idea why so few tools show trans temp. You might see if OBD fusion has a download for a scan dongle that will read your temps, or see ... | |||||
