| Answer to: 2021 Toyota Corolla LE vs 2021 Kia Forte LXS | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Also want to add that 3-4 Kia Fortes ar going for around $10.000 while 6-7 year old Corollas are going for $10.000 so Kia resale value isnt good. There is absolutely NO reason to buy a NEW Kia. Short term <3 year ownership should be alright, but you would want to lease. Long-term, you want to get a Japanese brand with good resale value like Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Subaru... and Toyota&Honda tend to be more reliable. | |||||
| I got a free Kia motor and catalytic converter from Kia! | 19Relevance | 12 months ago | DaveCarey | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, this really isn't a question but information for your viewers. In reference to your recent video titled "Everyone Who Owns a Toyota Just Got Screwed (Do Not Buy)", you talked about the difficulty getting Kia to replace an engine. I was able to get my sister-in-laws motor and catalytic converter replace and I'll tell you how I did it. Her 2012 Kia Soul engine with over 100K miles on it got a hole in the piston on the way to my house in VA coming from NY. It was towed to the dealer in PA, and they said that she needed a new motor for $4k. I did so ... | |||||
| 2015 Kia Soul skips while driving after KIA road test, now it runs like crap! | 19Relevance | 5 years ago | Brewbythecup | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, Kia replaced the engine at 80,000 miles, took to dealer for inspection at 94,000 miles to have the rods checked per Kia request to extend the warranty, now that I have the car back it skips/ jerks while driving at all speeds, but not all the time. Dealer says that the coils need replacing that the black paint shows bare metal in some places, on 3 of the 4 coils, they say they are arching inside the engine and the spark plugs need replacing too and you cant used 3rd party parts, only Kia parts for a total cost of $600. I put 2 cans of sea foam hig ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2021 Toyota Corolla LE vs 2021 Kia Forte LXS | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Vine30 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Drive both and see how well it suits your needs. Car reliability is something only time will answer. I had a Kia Forte that I drove 187,000 miles with original transmission and engine and no issues. Having said that the predicted reliability of the corolla is greater than the Kia. One more very valuable thing to keep in mind is safety, the Toyota will be cheaper to insure as the Kia Forte is among the top 10 cars in fatalities per million registered cars. | |||||
| Answer to: Kia Carnival: is it good? | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I would not bother with the Kia Carnival, esp. if you plan to keep for a long time and put as much miles as possible. Hyundai/Kia products are just not well made, esp. beyond 100,000 miles. As for Hyundai/Kia being reliable or not, see here: | |||||

| Answer to: Hyundai Kia vs Mitsubishi quality | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Regarding modern-day Hyundai/Kia vs. Mitsubishi, from having driven vehicles from both automakers I’ve found the Hyundai/Kia has better quality control (relative to the other). If you twisted my arm and I was to buy a vehicle between these two, I’d go for the Hyundai/Kia. | |||||
| Answer to: Is a Kia Rio a good car to start off with and also what are some problems this car faces? | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Super Dummy | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I would highly recommend a Kia Rio as first car. If you want to stay healthy and get plenty of exercise by pushing a Kia Rio and walking to catch public transportation. The Kia Rio is the car for you . Seriously, I would look for another car. Maybe, a family member will sell their car (Corolla or Civic) for good price. | |||||
| 2013 Toyota Sienna VS 2016 Kia Sorento | 19Relevance | 4 months ago | kkim1 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I am trying to trade-in my vehicle. I need a roomier vehicle than the small one I have now. I have a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ES. I have driven a Kia Sorento before, and it was reliable, even in the snow. My family also had a Toyota Tundra for years - so reliable! The options I have are high mileage ones, as I am going for the older generations for the Kia Sorento and the Toyota Sienna. The Kia Sorento is at 134,000 miles, and the Toyota Sienna is at 215,000 miles. They both look in good condition and have good maintenance history. What is my best opti ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2013 Rav 4 or 2024 Kia Sportage | 19Relevance | 10 months ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| We have a lengthy thread on that topic: In short the words "Kia" and "longevity" really don't go together well. It's hard to argue with getting a free late model, nearly new car. However the long-term prospects for the Kia are not great and it may even crater in the short term. Get some quotes on the Kia online from places like Carvana and Carmax to see what you can get for it. You would need to have the RAV4 examined by a mechanic before purchase to determine it's true condition so you can make an informed decision. Also be aware that RAV4s of tha ... | |||||
| Scotty my Kia Rio LX 2014 has the code P0734 | 19Relevance | 1 year ago | Sinthetic_Love | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2014 Kia RIO LX/ CODE P0734/ Scotty, Big fan here I’ve been watching your videos since I was 18 (I’m 27 now), anyways I have a Kia Rio LX 2014 that I bought for $3000 w/ 60k miles on it but it already had a little transmission slippage (Engine wise the Kia Rio is okay no trouble and fully serviced). I had a Mazda 3 & it shifted like a dream but out of curiosity I changed my transmission oil at 230,000 miles and failed shortly after. My Kia Rio is currently at 97K miles (no transmission service that I know of yet) and I don’t know if I should service the ... | |||||
| 2014 Kia Optima Issues? | 19Relevance | 2 years ago | nathaz | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Good Morning Scotty, Nathan coming at you from Southern Ontario, Canada Recently my family was gifted a 2014 Kia Optima in great condition, next to no rust, a clean Carfax, and 86,991 miles on it. It has been serviced at Kia it's whole life. And the in-laws thankfully made sure that Kia included an actual spare tire kit with car and got us a three year full coverage warranty. Now I still protested this car and instead hoped for a slightly older Toyota Matrix, Ford Tauras, or even a Mazda 5 that were all in great shape. However, the Kia Optima it was. S ... | |||||

| Answer to: 2007 Kia Spectra manual opinions | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I own a 2009 Kia Sportage based on the Spectra and let me tell you mechanically they are much more reliable than the newer ones but when it comes to cosmetic quality oh are they horrible electrical problems everywhere but 5 speed in a spectra seems like a reliable vehicle (just don't expect quality) if you get it for cheap. If you get it for like 1500 bucks or something have a mechanic check it out and if it is good go ahead but don't pay a dime more. Like I said, don't expect quality from a base trim tiny 14 year old vehicle made by a cheap company ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2021 Kia Forte GT | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If you are happy with 10 years or 120k miles out of a car (maybe 130 140 with highway miles), then go ahead. I own a 2009 Kia Sportage 123,000 miles perfectly fine city miles. The thing is the newer Kia's have GDI and TURBO's and will fall apart after 100k miles. If you are happy with that go ahead and then sell it in like 6 or 7 years. If you want more out of a car, consider a Honda, Mazda, Toyota, or Subaru with a manuel transmission. The automatic transmissions of Kia's are alright so I doubt the manuels will give you any problems. | |||||
