Recently my family was gifted a 2014 Kia Optima in great condition, next to no rust, a clean Carfax, and 86,991 miles on it. It has been serviced at Kia it's whole life. And the in-laws thankfully made sure that Kia included an actual spare tire kit with car and got us a three year full coverage warranty. 

Now I still protested this car and instead hoped for a slightly older Toyota Matrix, Ford Tauras, or even a Mazda 5 that were all in great shape. However, the Kia Optima it was. 

So my question is this. I know these models were prone to engine failure around or before the 200,000 mile mark and had paint issues. 

But are there any other issues we should keep an eye out for? Would hate for it to crap out on the way to Fort Worth. 

Obviously, I'll keep up on all the preventative maintenance.
