| They are very well built and solid cars, but V8 Lexus models are usually more expensive to maintain/repair when something does break. Plus, they don't give great fuel economy which is a big factor when you will be driving 120 miles a day. So, I suggest you look for a lower mileage and newer V6 Lexus like a GS or ES. Those will be cheaper to maintain/fix in the long run. The LS is reliable, but with that age and high mileage some expensive items could come up - it will definitely be somewhat of a gamble. If you don't mind the poorer gas mileage and are willing to put up with a couple expensive repairs, there's nothing wrong with getting a LS - just be prepared. Of course get a pre-purchase inspection on any car you consider before giving the seller any money. | |||||

| Ya'll get a room! lol I don't know which side who is on what... I'm on the side if I try regular and it knocks/pings (trained discrete ear), then regular is ok. I have my 02 chevy tuned (timing advanced) for premium but put regular in it these days cause I don't drive like I used too... should reprogram but just drive careful to avoid ping... which is an awful idea/way to treat my truck! So don't do what I do as it is wrong (ping/knock bad as it will eventually do serious damage). | |||||

| Thank you . That's very kind. I will let the gas thing slide for now (even though you're obviously wrong.) because you're an OK guy. I would go for a beer with you any day, although I'm still a _bit_ unsure how I feel. I haven't put that many miles on my Vortec 5.3 yet, so you know ... we'll see . | It is an old luxury car with probably high miles, give it the premium gas. | |||||
