| Answer to: 3 cyl engines? | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | J_C | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... tech to save a little on fuel is going to hurt reliability and repair costs down the road, and it is a buzzy, busy engine you'll need to rev too much to keep up with traffic. Unacceptable for a new vehicle, unless the target buyer is rental car agencies. The Escape engine choices now (I3 turbo, I4 turbo, or hybrid) are all very disappointing. I'd much rather just have (not daydreaming, I mean using existing ford tech) a direct + port injected DOHC 3.5L NON-turbo, or even dropping down to similar with a 3.0L considering the vehicle size, as long as it doe ... | |||||

| went to trade in my 2005 Ford Escape (50k,V6). They wanted to sell me a new 3 cyl Escape. What? are we in India? All odd cyl cars have been flops IMO (Acura vigor, Audi etc). I don't think Americans will buy them. is it just me or has technology improved that much. I'm still driving my 2005. Tell me I'm wrong. thanks Allen SLC UT | |||||

| Toyota Corolla 2006 trade | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | JoseM | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, do you think it would be a wise idea to trade a 2006 Toyota Corolla with over 120,000 miles and also pay an extra grand for a 2009 Ford Escape four cylinder engine with over 130,000 miles? The Corolla is a fine car, but I could use some extra room in the cabin, I'm 6'0 feet and driving it gets a little rough when I take people on the back seat and have to adjust my seat forward, plus it's raining season where I live and I could use the higher suspension on the Escape, so I can roam without fear that the engine might get wet or flooded. | Hi Scottie.......I have a '09' Ford Escape Hybrid with 172K miles that sat for a few months and now won't even jump start. Do I need to charge the Hybrid battery...or what can I do to bring it 'back to life'..? A mechanic got it started and it was running fine then it sat for a few weeks and it 'died' again and won't jump start again either. Could it be the ECM/PCM relay....The message on the Dash said 'Stop Safely Now with the Red Triangle, Thanks, Tim | |||||

| Those are not the most reliable vehicles to start with and at 221,000 miles you can bet the thing is pretty much worn out and ready to eat its next owner out of house and home in repair costs. Note the high incidence of serious engine and transmission problems: (Drill down into each category for specifics.) | |||||

| Hi Scotty! After careful consideration, I've decided to remove my car's rear windshield wiper and its entire assembly, and permanently plug up the (window) hole. More so for exterior aesthetic reasons than anything else.I have searched and searched all of the web and every possible Ford community available to find out "how-to", and there is nothing to be found! There are videos for almost every other vehicle except mine.I'm at my wit's end - can you help? Specs:2015 Ford Escape Titanium/AWD/2.0/Auto/136k | |||||

| My 2011 Ford Escape XLT with a 2.5L I4 Engine 6 speed automatic transmission has an exhaust problem. It looks like the muffler broke and is hanging down. I moved from Illinois to Arizona 3 weeks ago. Before I left I had the car looked at by a mechanic because the exhaust was rattling a little when the engine idled while in drive. I was told they would need to replace the whole exhaust system to fix it. I took a gamble and went ahead with the move. Today while driving it came loose and I am in full panic mode as my savings are near to nothing after the move a ... | |||||

| I have a 2009 Ford Escape with 105,000 miles, automatic transmission. I have had this issue for about two years now. After the car warms up, after about 15 minutes I apply the brakes and as the car is slowing down and is almost at a stop, there is a thud that you feel under the front of the vehicle. It doesn't do it each time but maybe after stopping two or three times, then on the fourth time it will do it again plus a burning smell in the front left. If I really have to apply the brakes, the burn smell is the worst, and you can smell it in the cab. If ... | |||||

| I was in an accident last year and had to buy a 2012 Ford Escape blindly. unfortunately my body was so messed up I didn't think I traveled as far as I did without an oil change. anyways after the car started making noises I tested it and it had many codes pop up and the oil was empty pretty much. P0300, P0304, P0305, P0306, P001, P00018,and P00021. I'm still kinda broken and so are my pockets. I did change the oil and there wasn't any metal scraps but it also didn't help. I saw the water pump belt is frayed as well but I'm wondering if I ruined the vehicle b ... | |||||
