| ... but the timing chain issues can be not cheap to fix. overall, it’s a reasonably dependable 70 horsepower and Toyota claims that it will do 60mpg (no hybrid system, manual, AYGO). they usually wear out after 120k miles but if you plan on driving much, just don’t get a city car… the Ford EcoBoost, there are many different variants that all go by the “1.0L” designation.in that generation of Ford focus they had both the 125HP engine and the 100HP one. both of these engines aren’t “city car engines” and tend to drive better and last slightly longer - not ... | |||||

| Are you sure you want to buy a Toyota Siena for this kind of business? They’re quite expensive, not super fuel efficient but they are definitely very reliable. When I did things like that I used Ford focus wagons, the 1.6L manual with DuraTec engines as even with mileages bellow 70k miles they’re reliable enough but (mainly) super cheap (I used to get them for under $6k, but prices do differ depending on where you live) so it was pretty easy to recoup that investment. (Not to mention if you don’t drive much then having a less-reliable car that may not last ... | |||||

| OK so my little Green Goblin focus Wagon (231K miles) had code P411 (Secondary Air Injection). Years ago, this happened, and I replaced the diverter valve reset codes problem solved so I thought I'd do the same thing this time. Now as soon as it shifts to 2nd the car dies. Restart take off and dies again after going into second gear. I've looked everything over and nothing is loose. No codes either! | |||||

| ... do you well. Personally I’d get out of that thing and get out of small, GDI turbo motors. Realize Ford doesn’t want to mess with cars. Their focus is on perfecting the pick up truck. (Which they still need to work on a little bit). If you want a small econo car the Japanese have perfected those because that is their focus. America doesn’t build cars very well. America is a SUV/ pickup market. We want the baddest, most computerized and fastest. while trying to save on fuel? Type of vehicles. | |||||

| Answer to: Confused about best used hatchback to buy - Honda Fit or Toyota Matrix? | 12Relevance | 5 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... know, 15 grand could get you a brand new Honda Fit. Both are discontinued so used shouldn't be going for that much. Avoid the 2.4 engines for the Matrix, stick to the 1.8. Both are fun to drive compared to budget equivalent sedans. If I were you I would look for deals for both and just get whichever one drives better and passes the mechanical inspection. Also note the Fit is one class smaller than the Matrix and focus, but is known for making good use of its space. The Ford focus should be avoided as the automatic transmissions fall apart. | |||||
| Answer to: What should I get as my first car? | 12Relevance | 5 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... looking for a very cheap runabout, you may consider the manual Duratec focus (as long as it has about 60k miles and as long you're not planing to keep it for more then 120k miles. DO NOT get the EcoBoost, or the PowerShift transmissions, those are junk) as you can find them for very cheap with under 60,000 miles. They're very mediocre cars. I've been buying 6-7 year old focus wagons to use as work vehicles and they have served me very well for how cheap I've been buying them. Generally, When it comes to new cars I'd recommend avoiding Dual Clutch and CVT ... | |||||

| Today is July 3 2024. Two weeks ago I heard a big snaky hiss one day and then my car started running warm and the check engine light came on. Worried it's the head gasket. The shop looking at it isn't sure . But my question is has anyone heard this sound ? And if a reasonable price can be found is it worth it to get head gasket replaced? It's a 2014 Ford focus, approx 138,000 miles . Sedan . Prev owner and myself only. Hot climate in summer. Thanks!! Happy 4th! | |||||
| What do you think about the new Hyundai vehicles? | 12Relevance | 5 years ago | duncanm70 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I am and will always be a die hard Toyota/Lexus lover. Spouse has a new Subaru, and a used focus. Both seem very well other than a bad valve cover gasket on the focus.... I digress. I have a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq plug in. Bought just because the warranty I received seemed very good, along with the free oil changes till 60K. "100K bumper to bumper warranty." Looking back at Hyundai, they were absolutely terrible. Driving the Hyundai with over 27K, so far so good. Plan on driving it to the ground because I have lifetime warranty on the hybrid battery... | Scotty, im looking at a new 2021 ford ranger 4×4 lariat. This truck seems to best fit my needs but i had a few questions to make sure its worth my money. 1. Is the engine just an upgraded version of the 2.3 from the focus rs? 2. Is it an interference engine? 3. Is the water pump chain driven inside the engine or belt driven outside the engine? 4. Google says timing chains last 300k plus miles but the service book says it should be changed between 80 to 120k miles. What's going on here I love everything about thia truck but want to make sure its worth my ... | |||||
