| Answer to: How do I fix malfunctioning blower motor | 55Relevance | 2 years ago | MountainManJoe | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| that's a blower motor control module. But don't buy this! (read below) GM Part No.: 89018778 Module,Heater & Blower & A/C Control purple + black wires for motor then there's a socket for your other three wires: power, ground, and speed signal. Just like the electrical schematic shows. people are just clueless, or use the incorrect names . Happens all the time. | |||||

| 2009 Toyota Matrix - moving from CA to N Dakota | 27Relevance | 4 years ago | LaurensMom | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello Scotty! My daughter joined the Air Force last year and will be stationed in N Dakota in February. Her 2009 Toyota Matrix has around 210,000 miles logged, routine maintenance completed every 5k miles, all recalls completed, tires are a year old. What recommendations do you suggest to help keep it alive in the freezing temp of N Dakota? We live in the CA central valley. I’d rather she learn to drive in the snow in her older, no money owed vehicle. Any advice would be welcome! Thank you! Fatima Domingo {black}:idontknow: | |||||
| Answer to: should I buy a Dodge Dakota | 27Relevance | 4 years ago | scott.schnegs | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a first gen square body Dakota with 332,000 on the 3.9 v6, with the 5 speed and 4x4 they run forever if you fix the main power wire under the fuse box, it goes from one to 3 wires and is red with a white stripe, and that will solve the random misfires, idling issues, dyeing or stalling, and such, this truck has been in my family almost 20 years now, I am the 3 owner and it went from my dad, to my brother, to me, and I hope to see it last even longer, if you take care of them and maintain them, those Dakota pickups should be decent | |||||
| Answer to: 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan vs 1999 Dodge Dakota | 27Relevance | 4 years ago | Owen Klaassen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I would definitely get the Dakota out of those 3. Have an uncle, has a 2013 caravan and hates it, had awful brakes and has had tranny problems up the wazoo. My dads boss used to have a 99 Dakota and it was alright. Had to do a fuel injection job but besides that it was a decent vehicle. If I were you though, I would look for a Chevy 4x4 pickup, 1988-2006, Those would meet your criteria for price, reliability, 4x4, 6 cylinder, etc. you can get those for good price in good condition as those 88 and up they didn’t rust out like the SquareBodys did. That’s just ... | |||||
| 2000 Dodge Dakota Smells like Antifreeze | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | LESchwartz | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| This is the 6th Dakota my family has owned and I've always done all my own maintenance and repairs on them -- but this one's got me stumped: I recently purchased a 2000 Dodge Dakota, with 2WD, 3.9L V6, AT. Really low miles, at 72K. After I drive it and the vehicle comes up to temp, I find that I smell antifreeze afterward. I don't smell antifreeze inside the vehicle, but outside after I exit. Over time I can slowly watch the reservoir get lower and lower as it slowly drains down -- maybe a half inch a week. There are no obvious problems or leaks like ... | |||||

| Answer to: 95 Dakota long crank | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | wretchasketch | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I don’t know if I would consider two seconds all that bad for a cold start on a Dodge Dakota of that vintage. My 90 Dakota (slightly different fuel delivery system) behaves similarly. Having a good strong battery helps, and sometimes I wonder if the fuel pumps on these trucks could deliver a little stronger 😊 | |||||

| Back in the day, AMC made an excellent pickup called the Comanche. When Chysler bought out AMC they stopped making them in favor of the Dakota. IMHO the Dakota's were and probably still are,,,,,junk. | |||||

| How do I fix Dakota battery drain | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | Dallas9 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I changed the head gasket on my 07 High Output Dakota. It ran for 10 seconds. Now, it will only make a clicking noise when I try to start it. I have parasitic drain and "no link" on code reader. When the key is turned, there is a clicking noise and the dash engine lights come on, but the engine and the starter do not move. 2007 High Output Dakota. | |||||
| Dodge Dakota 2003 Air-condition Resistor and wiring harness keeps burning out | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | ekimnotlem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The air-conditioning Resistor and wiring harness keeps burning out in my 2003 Dodge Dakota. My mechanic keeps fixing it under warranty (most of the time). They replace the resistor and wiring harness every 6 to 8 months on average. They say it is a known problem with these trucks and there is no permanent fix for it. I was just wondering if you know of a long term or permanent fix? Other than this problem it has been a good truck. It is my granddaughter's favorite vehicle because she can sit in the front seat beside PopPaw. This model has no back seat so it ... | |||||

| Before you decide you can’t do it, join the Dodge Dakota forums and look for a tutorial. At least you’ll know exactly what the mechanic has to do. Also look to YouTube. I don’t consider myself a mechanic, but I replaced the timing chain on my 1990 Dakota using the Internet as a resource. I was slow and methodical, taking pictures of every step so I knew how to get it all back together. I think I spent four days putting the new timing kit on. A lot of the time was spent cleaning surfaces where new gaskets would go. I replaced a lot of other stuff in the pro ... | |||||

| Dakota stutters on acceleration | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | kbabb1978 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2002 Dakota 4.7 with 120k on it. No codes. Well maintained. Fresh tuneup. Clean gas. Used heavy injector cleaners. But On occasion when accelerating, usually from a stop. The Dakota will stutter. It’s the equivalent of a brain fart. That moment where nothing happens. No backfire, no response, no acceleration, doesn’t die, just doesn’t go. Normally after letting off the gas and starting over it will be ok but every few times it won’t go for up to a minute. I’ve worked on cars a lot and asked a lot of people what the problem is and no one seems to kno ... | |||||
