The air-conditioning Resistor and wiring harness keeps burning out in my 2003 Dodge Dakota. My mechanic keeps fixing it under warranty (most of the time). They replace the resistor and wiring harness every 6 to 8 months on average. They say it is a known problem with these trucks and there is no permanent fix for it. I was just wondering if you know of a long term or permanent fix? Other than this problem it has been a good truck. It is my granddaughter's favorite vehicle because she can sit in the front seat beside PopPaw. This model has no back seat so it comes with an option to turn the passenger side airbag off and then it becomes legal to put a baby seat in the front. 2003 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 OHV 12V 252000 miles.
Do you mean the resistor and wiring for the HVAC blower? Those typically will burn out when you have a worn blower pulling too much current.
Yes that is what I must mean because the blower stops work. They put a new blower in it one time. It was probably an aftermarket blower but hopefully that wouldn't be a problem not using OEM parts. They did say Dodge/Chrysler no longer make the wiring harness and they could not get one from them.
