| Hi, Kaizen 😊 Yes, I do have 3 Kias – I have the Niro crossover hybrid corporate fleet vehicle, and I own another 2 Kia Stonic compact Crossovers I’ve bought brand new. Most members and mods here recommend Toyota Me too, in a recent answer to a question (here) I’ve noted that “to a person who does not understand cars and won't work on his car, I'd only recommend a Toyota, Honda or Mazda - even if they're not my preference and I buy a different kind of cars.” and that is the case as my signature notes what cars I have, and that they’re not recomm ... | |||||

This model experiences engine problems as well. However, the model year with the most complaints of all is the 2012 Kia Forte. The most-reported problem is with the 2010 Kia Forte. Apparently, this model year deals with a knocking sound when the vehicle is operating." "The worst Kia Optima model year is the year 2011. Like the other two cars on this list, the Kia Optima deals with engine problems. T ... | |||||

| Kia/Hyundai cannot build motors correctly. Google Hyundai/Kia engine tick. And I’m sure even the class action will come up for it. The 2013-17 Elantra’s and Kia Optimas are known for this. Hyundai and Kia in Canada were forced to replace these motors because Hyundai and Kia knew they were built wrong. America nothing happened and Kia/ Hyundai are blaming owners for the motors going bad. | |||||

| Hey Scotty! A friend of mine has a 2014 Kia Soul 2.0. Engine blew up at 67,000 miles and went into "limp" mode (code: P1326) which is where it has been for 2 months. He had to have it towed 35 miles to the nearest Kia dealership (cost of tow: $195) where the Kia "technicians" told him the engine is shot and it would cost....get this....$10,000 for a new engine, including installation. He had to spend another $195 to get the POS Soul towed back to his house. Since he is the second owner, he is not covered by Kia's 100,000 mile warranty. My poor friend i ... | |||||

| I think your mistrust is misplaced. The dealer didn't cause this issue, Kia did. Are you really considering gambling you & your daughter's lives in the process? The 2013-2015 Kia Optima and 2014-2015 Kia Sorento vehicles have HECU components that may leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short-circuit, starting fires in the engine compartments. In February Kia received a complaint about a 2015 Sorento that concerned electrical failures. The dealership found the HECU had melted and it was later learned the HECU connector and circuit b ... | |||||

| ... being said you mentioned Kia. The big trouble with Kia in the states has more to do with the dealers than the company. Every time I have had warranty issue I called Kia's customer service hot line and they fixed it in my favor. I live on the east coast and Kia is on the west coast. That's 3 or 4 time zones. The dealers know you can't get a hold of anybody at Kia before 12PM. That's why they call early in the morning and demand an answer right away. If you approve they can get paid twice. Once by you and then once by Kia. They are very good at intimidating w ... | |||||

| @MountainManJoe I don't know🤔 With my experience with Kia, Kia has proven reliable. For example, I know someone with a 2015 Kia Sedona at 151k miles. Original factory everything. Only times in the shop is for oil changes and tires. Purrs like a kitten!😺 | |||||

| Hey all! So asking for a friend who is considering a car for weekend use in Canada. It's a 2021 Kia Rio which I'll include the link to the posting below. I personally advised against buying it given all we now about Kia/Hyundai issues, but can this by chance be better since it is for the Canadian market or the same still applies? My personal suggestion was Corolla Cross or Honda Fit. | |||||

| Hi Scotti Love the videos but allow me to address this. The anti Hyundai Kia crowd tend to be pretty obnoxious on the forums but I never felt threatened. As far as the brand I have had pretty good experience with the ones I owned. While shopping around back 10 years ago I got the impression Toyota and Honda's dealers were colluding to keep the priced high and the inventories scarce. Can you say monopoly.? That was way before covid. It took a lot of persuasion but back then a bunch of people at work were buying this weird brand that sounded like Honda. An ... | |||||

| Hi. Hyundai-Kia do not make much money on these ultra budget cars. They don't have much interest in selling them. Their average profit margins are about 10% (that's the average throughout the entire Kia range, highest on expensive SUVs, much lower on budget cars - on some market that gets to as high as $1,000 per that kind of car but generally with the Rio it's lower) And not only are profits low from sale of cheap cars, so is demand, at least in the US. That's generally why no one else even bothers selling small cars - Ford doesn't bother offering ... | |||||

| My sister owns a 10 year Kia Sorrento that has a TSB out that tells her not to park in her garage due to a fire hazard. She’s 75 and feels this is unacceptable with the snow she gets in Maine. She contacted the dealership with her complaint. She bought the vehicle from this dealer and all services have been completed there. To my surprise the dealer has given here a loaner until the TSB has been completed. For maybe months? It’s a 2024 Ford Edge, seems to me at least one Kia dealer has stepped up and helped one of their customers! They are a Kia and Ford dea ... | |||||

| I have owned a Hyundai Accent for almost a decade previously.Currently I have two Kia Stonic SUV, which share the model designation ("YB"), the interior and almost all components (except styling and suspension) with the Kia Rio.-And these two cars are surprisingly completely different - The Accent is kind of "rough around the edges" while the Rio is genuinely nice.-The 4th gen Rio uses a European market sophisticated platform ("Hyundai-Kia GB")while the 5th gen Accent uses the "Russian/Chinese market" "Hyundai-Kia K2" platform.-The Rio feels like a nice Euro ... | |||||
