Topic starter
Hey Scotty,
Recently installed a new starter on my truck. Where the wires attach to the starter I noticed they are corroded, should I replace the wiring system that leads to the battery or is just cleaning it enough? Does the corrosion hurt the starter? I’d hate to stall or not be able to start. I live in Wisconsin so it sees road salt. Thank you!

It's OK to just clean up the connection. Using a corrosion inhibitor like dielectric grease would not hurt either.

no idea??? I don't know if you're talking about a half-eaten away cable, or just one with a slight green patina on it ...
This is a textbook example of a question where a photo would make all the difference.
