Transmission pan leaking

Topic starter

2003 Ford Ranger 2.3l Automatic. Pan is leaking. Not a huge leak, but enough to want to fix. To replace the seal I will have to drop the pan and  drain & fill the transmission. The truck has 129,000 miles and I highly doubt it has ever been changed before. What are my options here? I would like to fix the leak, but don't want to ruin the transmission by changing fluid like some say that it could.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

have you tried snugging up the bolts a bit? You can always put the same fluid back in.
