HI, my truck with a 2.7l ,manual 5 sp. xcab sr5 hit 300,000 mostly highway between work. Engine light came on, miss on #1, compression 60 on #1 ,all the rest 150.....leak down proved valves were the culprit. Options are currently head job quoted from my trusty mechanic "2900.00" , rebuilt can't find any 2.7l? that we trust anyway ,but can get v6, or buy this which is all I can find that is 5 sp. 4 inline 2.7l https://www.georgesusedcars.com/details/used-2010-toyota-tacoma/97974526

I wouldn't swap it with a V6. It's a giant pain in the ass. And I wouldn't trust the local guy to rebuild one. I would get a factory remanufactured one from a quality company or I tried to get a used engine from Japan and a lot of guys import them
