- Hey Scotty Terrance from Vancouver Canada here. I’m looking to buy a 06-08 Honda Pilot. I got my eye on one but the guy doesn’t have any service records. I plugged in the scan tool and it’s giving me a P0117 code “Engine Coolant temperature sensor circuit low” I checked the coolant and it’s just water in there. My question is would water instead of coolant hurt the engine in any way and would it be a good buy? Thanks buddy love your videos glad to see your enjoying Tennessee!
Run away from that vehicle if it's only has water in it that vehicle has a problem he just went cheap and filled it with water don't even think about buying it too many IFS
Thanks guys much appreciated! Going to check out a 2000 CRV tomorrow with only 180kms on it $2000. Hope the kms are correct and not turned back. Gonna scan tool it up!
Yes, it definitely hurts. If I were you, I would not even think about that car anymore.
Even though it doesn't freeze that much in Vancouver, there's a reason you're supposed to put 50/50 water and antifreeze. In the US it's usually called coolant, and in Canada it's usually called antifreeze. Either way, both functions are essential for your engine.
Walk away fast.
Walk, … most likely a curber! Probably also apart time sales guy at “Porky’s Used Car Emporium", … lots of them around in Vancouver.
