I got a 2006 Ford Mustang GT with a intermittent shut off issue and I'm in a bit of a cross road because I'm not sure which direction to take in diagnosing the issue. Its my daily driver and its shut off on me 3 times over the past few months in the middle of the road. Several codes have come up after the incident occurred, and The main code that has come up is P2105-"Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Engine Shutdown." I've already replaced the throttle actuator but car continues to shut off occasionally.

Have you tried testing/replacing the pedal position sensor?

How would I go about testing it?

The best way to test a switch is to use a multimeter. A switch should be "open" when not activated. One way to test if a switch is "open" is to test for continuity. There should NOT be continuity when the switch is open (deactivated). If you remove the switch to test it then it should be in the open position because it has been removed. If you do not have a multimeter or are uncomfortable with testing a switch, you could order the replacement and see if it solves some of the problems you are having with the ECU shutting the car off. The pedal position sensor communicates with the throttle actuator by telling it when to apply gas since gas pedals in today's modern cars are not connected to the throttle with linkage (they are connected electronically through the two devices mentioned). If you've changed the actuator the next place I would look is the pedal position sensor. If that doesnt work you can always return the new part and then we at least know its NOT that causing the problems.

Did you recently overheat the car?

And no overheating issues

Issue turned out to be BCM, water leaked in from the cowl onto the BCM. BCM was replaced and issue never returned.
