06 Tundra Clunk after stopping or starting.

I have an 06 Toyota Tundra 2wd with an automatic transmission and 250k miles on it.

There is a clunk that you hear sometimes when either stopping or starting. It doesn't do it all the time, and sometimes there's a delay when you hear it and it will clunk a few seconds after coming to a stop. The clunk is pretty noticeable and you can feel it throughout the truck.

I've tried researching what it could be, and some people say it could be the u joints that need to be greased. However, for some reason my driveshaft doesn't have any fitments to grease them up. I don't want to invest in new u joints if I'm not completely sure that that is the issue.

Do you have any ideas on how to be sure that's the issue? or do you think it could be something else?

As a starting point, did you go through our Noise sticky under FAQ?

I did, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

@Freedom39 On that sticky if you keep scrolling down Scotty shows you how to track down car noises with listening device.

Did you check the motor mounts? What about the transmission mount?

I had the motor mounts checked. The guys said they were fine. I haven't checked the transmission though. Is that something that can easily be checked?

From underneath the truck, in park, you should see the transmission move.

Be careful. It's much better to check it on a lift.
