I have a 07 fj cruiser that I want to do a coolant flush on and I see the thermostat is mounted in the housing when I look up new thermostats for it is there a anything you can recommend that I can do to get unrestricted flow I dont know if I can take the thermostat out of the housing then put it back on without it or is there a special housing that I need to buy to be able to do a flush easily?

We mechanics use a flush with hot water machine so the thermostat stays open if you don't have that you would have to cut the old thermostat out flush it that way then buy a new thermostat housing and thermostat assembly and use that when you're done

Ok thanks and I'm replacing the thermostat when I do it as well as the hoses and cap
