Morning Scotty,
I’m back with the 2012 Toyota Tundra. 5.7L with 157,500 on the clock. I am debating if I want to have the transmission oil and filter changed (not flushed). I do not know the history of the truck as far as transmission service. Carfax just says ‘vehicle serviced’ on 90% of the report. I’m wondering if you think it would be wise to change the fluid and filter at 157k miles without knowing if it’s the original fluid or not being a Toyota. I’ve owned a lot of Fords and I know how they can react to new transmission oil at high mileage and don’t want to damage anything. Your input is appreciated!

I would inspect the fluid first. If you saw metallic particles in the fluid, just leave it.

I think Scotty would say yes
