So I have a question and I don't know much about cars I have a 1990 Buick Riviera with a 3800 series 1 fuel injected engine and I went to fill it up with gas and as I was driving home from the gas station my cars steering wheel tighten upped and it had a burning smell to it and I pulled over and the oil sensor all of sudden went to low so I got of the checked the oil it was full and just fine and checked the power steering fluid it was full too and I went back and started the car and it started really rough and just died immediately so I took the key out did it one more time and the car started just fine and the oil sensor was back to normal I'm curious what might of started that? The security system before I bought the car was claimed to be bypassed by the previous owner do you think it was the security system acting up any recommendations what I might be dealing with helps thanks

I doubt it's the security system. It probably would have killed the engine and not allowed it to restart.

On a car that old I would start by checking the ground connections. When they start to go bad they can cause weird things to happen.

Well, you need to be more patient. Rules are rules. We all have lives and jobs outside of this forum. We come here in our free time to try and help some folks out as much as we can, but sometimes life can get in the way, as I'm sure you can understand. We don't get compensated in any to do this. We do this out of the goodness of our hearts. So give people a little time to respond. If you get no responses in a few days, then you can bump your question back up to the top of the list simply by adding a comment to it. It can be anything, like the word "bump" or "still looking for help" etc.
.
Your question doesn't seem to be urgent, since the issue only happened once, and your car is fine now. Wait and see if the problem comes back and try to gather more info
.
There might not be enough information in your post to give you an answer. Try providing more information like vehicle and service history.
