Fix or replace 1991 Ford F-250?

Hi Scotty

I own a 1991 Ford F-250 4x4 with a rebuilt 460 engine that has 20k miles and a four speed electronic transmission that was rebuilt two years ago. The truck overall has 100k miles on it. The truck was repainted ten years ago and it needs new paint as the clear coat is flaking off. Some of the power door lock switches are not working. The AC was rebuilt because Freon can no longer be used and has been leaking ever since. And the cloth seats need attention. With the sky high prices on these new trucks and lack of parts I was wondering whether to fix it or replace it with a new truck.

It sounds like you've already done all the major work. On a truck that old I'd just live with bad paint and hinky power door locks, and throw some seat covers on it. The only somewhat major issue is that apparently the AC conversion was poorly done, but it should be possible to find and fix the leak(s).

Thank you for your response. I was leaning more towards your suggestion.

I agree with Chuck just use it until the wheels fall off

Thank you!
