I have a '92 F-250 diesel 5-speed truck that's been sitting since 2011. Do I have to worry much about rust? I know it has some superficial like in the bed and underneath. It's been in Western Washington its whole life. Seems pretty solid to me, the bed and underneath. What else should I be worried about? Thanks.
ANY 30 year old vehicle that's been sitting for 10 years in a moist environment COULD be very rusty. I'd do a very thorough check. The other thing is, all the rubber parts are likely to leak or fail when the truck is revived - engine seals, hoses, belts, bushings, etc.
Here's some info on that year/model https://repairpal.com/1992-ford-f-250/problems
Take a hammer to the frame. If it bounces off the frame is OK. If the hammer goes through, the frame is rotted. All rubber parts should also be checked, brakes flushed out with fresh fluid, and the fuel system cleaned out.
