That's a problem with modern appliances in general, they just don't last like the old ones.

My brothers LG fridge died after 3 years!!! Most all service people he contacted would NOT touch them, too many issues with parts and quality. He did end up contacting LG and they had there own service because of a manufactuers defect and it only cost him $200. Check out LG directly.

i did been calling LG corporate and home depot where i got it they wont stand behind it at all, is it worth pulling a karen and get news stations invovled lol

I don't think Scotty is going to get into appliances anytime soon.

Used to be many car manufacturers had appliance divisions. There was the Crosley which was built by an appliance company, Nash-Kelvinator of course, Frigidaire was GM's brand, there was Philco-Ford, and Chrysler had Airtemp air conditioning. (I used to have a Chrysler room air conditioner ages ago, complete with the pentastar logo.)

I seem to vaguely remember he mentioned he fixed the washing machine at his Airbnb rental in Rhode Island?

Not an appliance, but I work for a solar company that sometimes installs battery backup systems. We installed 1 LG CHEM RESU10 energy storage in 2019. A year later, LG was recalling them because they were catching fire spontaneously. Luckily for us, we only installed a single unit for a single customer, but terrible for this client. We had to uninstall the unit, ship it to LG so they can refurbish it and send it back for us to reinstall because they have no more of these units available due to the recall. I'm seeing a trend here in Korean companies and things catching fire when they're not supposed to...

Things were built to last throughout time because it took awhile to build and assemble products as well as being made by humans. Now we make things in seconds with robots. Ford, for example, sends a new F150 off the line every 53 seconds. Combine that speed with so much added tech and poor QC it’s over.
