1992 gmc sierra 1500 speedometer wasn't working, found chewed and shorted wires coming from the speed sensor (pictured), replaced wires (soldered and heat shrink) and problem went away for a day, now it's intermittent. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, bad speed sensor too?

I would try the sensor and pray that it didn't damage any kind of computer module because when shorted out computer modules have no fuses to them and they can easily be damaged by electrical shorts
