I have a 2005 Toyota Camry, 2.4L, automatic, 460,000 miles, I'm having an issue tracking down my an issue with my abs. It does have a code for the left rear abs sensor circuit. Can't remember off the top of my head. I have replaced the wheel bearing and sensor. No change. I did test wire integrity from the module to the sensor. I'm getting correct resistance from the sensor. I can see the sensor producing voltage when I spin the wheel. I also checked the right rear to compare everything. I can read all sensors and speed except the left rear. I did swap abs modules. I sprayed the plug and connector with deoxit. There is no change. Kind of scratching my head on this one. There is a possibility that I have 2 bad modules. The original was damaged from being hit by a deer and the one I replaced it with came from a junkyard. Otherwise the car runs and drives with out any other issues, besides burning oil. Any help or a direct to go would be great. Thanks.
There's a high probability the used sensor is bad. There is a possibility that I have 2 bad modules. The original was damaged from being hit by a deer and the one I replaced it with came from a junkyard.
Do you have a scan tool that can read wheel speed?
Run two jumper wires from the left wheel sensor over to the right side wires that go to the ABS module. When you spin the left wheel the scan tool should read it as the right wheel spinning instead.
This will verify if the left wheel sensor is working correctly and would point to a possible problem with the left side wiring to the ABS model.
