Hi Scotty,
I noticed another symptom in my car that I am concerned about.
Anyway , the model is Opel Astra H with 120 miles on it. When car comes to idling speed exahust starts to make thumping/popping sound , when on higher rpm it goes away. Sounds kinda like a misfire but there are no codes for misfire detected.
Heres the video on youtube that I posted if you are free to check it out.

Your advice is always appreciated.
Thanks in advance !
@chucktobias Well , mechanic looked at it told me there is no misfires detected.
@chucktobias I would also like to mention that its doing it randomly. Sometimes stop for 3 4 seconds than do it comes back again.
mechanic looked at it told me there is no misfires detected.
Was he just looking at codes or did he analyze the data? All too many mechanics just do the former.
Odd sound.. Have you checked the exhaust mounts?Sounds kinda like a misfire but there are no codes for misfire detected.
@hixster Sure, i took it to a mechanic for an inspection and he checked everything. There was an exahust leak tho but he welded everything but the popping remained.
@amiramkec if the popping noise is caused by misfires, then as @chucktobias mentioned your mechanic should be looking at live data.
@hixster Thanks , I will definitely have to find another mechanic who knows what he's doing and do it again. I hope is safe to drive because I need car for my daily purposes and its not good to drive around in a car thats not safe. The popping disolves at higher RPM 1000 or more, but as soon as it comes to an idle it starts doing the same.
@hixster Also, this has been happening for about 3 months since I live in a place where mechanics are just too busy or they dont want to help. If it was a misfire it should probably trigger the check engine light by now. And he told me "nah, your car wouldn't run good if it has a misfires". It actually picks up speed and acceleration pretty good and has nice moan when accelerating , but when drops on idle it starts all this and its driving me nuts.
@amiramkec Problems have to reach a certain level of severity before the check engine light is triggered. It is quite possible to experience symptoms without the light turning on.
@hixster @chucktobias I agree and Im going to check it again. Im suspecting (as Im researching internet) that ingition timing can be also a problem or a faulty ECU. So I might also check that out.
