This is a project car i have not had it running for a while, i turned it on after replacing the air sensor and tps. It will idle about 250 and shake hard and then shutdown. I connected the nissan datascan and i see the TDC at 25.
Please help? Where do i start troubleshooting?
Strait with checking the MAF sensor and icv.
How do i check the MAF with data scan? Keep in mind the MAF is new. What is icv?
There should be a linear relationship between the MAF reading and the rpm.
icv= idle control valve
I would start with verification the fuel is any good since it’s been sitting and hasn’t ran for a while as you say. Next most common thing on those cars is fuel injectors and the connectors you may be able to see them melted
Om these cars there is a TPS throttle position sensor is that equivalent to icv? Of so o replaced that one and used nissan datascan to set the correct voltage and all. When the roigh idle i tried to move it to see if changes anything and it made no difference even of it is unplugged
I was thinking checking the coil packs because it is behaving like there is something not fitting as i can smell strong fuel smell as if it is not burning
Any tips on checking coil packs and fuel injectors using the software or just use a multimeter?
And what about the BTDC being 25 when it is supposed to be 15 which it was b3fore at sometime when i ran it? Does that indicate something ? Could it be a vacuum leak?
You could definitely check vacuum leaks those were common on this to wet here upper or lower plenum to be be leaking. I would use a multimeter for checking voltage to the coils or injectors
