Hey there im looking at purchasing a 96 firebird v6 with an automatic transmission. Car has 103k miles on it and the seller is looking to get 2k for it. Couple scratches here and there but overall in decent shape for being 25 years old. Is this a good buy? What things should i look out for with this model? Thanks!

What are you going to use this car for? Daily driver:

RUUUUUUNNNN

Weekend toy:

Maybe

If you consider buying it, definitely have a mechanic check it out.

Scotty did a video on a 96 firebird with a corvette motor. Have a mechanic check out the car first, they were famous for rusting out underneath. I knew someone who had one and it had electrical issues too.

2k is too much, I'd stay away, transmissions are weak. Just my opinion.

Offer him between $1500 to $1800, to see if he bites. Rust is the real issues on f-bodies. If the under carriage is rusted. Be polite and turn the car down.
