Hey,
I have a 1996 Toyota Camry V6 LE with the 1MZ-FE engine. It is an automatic 4 speed variant with 274,000 kms on it.
My issue is that I just bought this car for myself and heard a ticking sound from the top of the engine. Sounds like the rear valve cover area. I did the valve clearance adjustment and it reduced the sound a little but I still have it.
After talking to a local shop he told me I needed a new camshaft in the rear side. What do you think, should I pay for this or is it something else most likely? What can I do to fix this problem. If you require videos please let me know.

It's a 96...not going to be super smooth. If it's running right and nothing in the valve train looked damaged just leave it.
