Hi Scotty, I found a 1997 Camry 4 cyl with automatic transmission and 173,000 miles. Private seller. It appears to be in great condition. A VIN search shows it was made in Kentucky. The same state where there were recalls for stuck accelerators. While reading about engine problems (complete breakdowns!) for the 1997 with same engine and transmission; I got concerned. Should Toyotas from Kentucky be avoided? Thanks! Really appreciate your channel. Here's that link: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Toyota/Camry/1997/engine/engine_failure.shtml
P.S. The Associate Press stated Susan Elkington "got a sense of pride from the milestone [the 10th million Camry rolled off the line in March 2021] at her KY plant. ~ While I'm happy for Susan, I'm also concerned the engine made in her plant might cease, blow up and have other oil sludge issues. (See the comments in the http://www.carcomplaints.com link.) Are there 1997 Camrys made in Japan?
Link to Susan's plant per AP: https://www.whas11.com/article/news/kentucky/toyota-kentucky-10-million-camrys-production-plant-georgetown/417-08f2cdff-9b82-4de6-b383-1f4499c96f80
