Can anyone tell me what this grinding noise is? Happens most frequently at 40mph when just cruising

With the latest generation RAV4, there seems to be a grinding sound associated with a clutch to engage the AWD RAV4. I am not aware of it affecting previous generations, but maybe something to consider.
