1998 3.8L Camaro reliability questions

Well first things first. I have 139000 miles on it currently.

At about 138000 I noticed that the usual light-brown color of the coolant was getting gunky. My mechanic thinks that there was a bad additive that made the coolant gunk. The car never once overheated. I bought a new water pump, flushed the entire thing properly, and put new coolant and called it a day using the same radiator. During this operation, my oil pressure sensor plug fell out unknowningly. I drove about 15 minutes to walmart, when on the way back home I heard what I think was the rocker arm making a sound, and saw smoke coming from the bottom of my car, and my ac was blowing the smell of oil. I drove the 15 minutes back to my mechanic where I got a new oil pressure sensor and filled her up with 10W40. She was about 3 quarts low. Since then, I've drove 1k miles and haven't noticed any problems. Do you think I got away with it? Or should I try and sell my car. Again, 1998 camaro with a 3800. No problems other than that. Any input, even unrelated to this problem are accepted! 🙂

If you want to keep the car, have your mechanic check it thoroughly and give you a professional opinion on the required repairs and the cost. Then you decide what you want to do with it.

Yes. Sell the moneypit

I forgot to add that the engine doesn't make any sounds currently. If I got an engine oil test and it came back good would you still say to sell?

Also, the engine makes no sounds currently. They went away right after adding oil. I'm also not sure of any engines more reliable than a 3800 at the pricepoint.
