Hi Scotty
I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7l four cylinder 2wd with 175,000 miles. I've recently noticed it's developed a coolant leak coming from the back of the engine. It's not leaking heavily enough to pool under car but it leaves a white residue on passenger side of the engine and on top of the transmission. It runs perfectly fine, has never overheated but I do loose coolant and have to top it off every week or two.
I was worried the head gasket was going so I ran a combustion leak test and the fluid stayed blue. No smoke out the tail pipe, clean coolant and oil.
The temperature gauge never exceeds half way but the hood often feel burning hot to the touch.
What do you think? The truck is in great shape and I'd like to make it last for years to come. I appreciate any insite or advice.
Thanks Scotty!
