Hello Scotty, I was wondering if you could provide some input on my current issue. I've got a 2000 Toyota Tundra, 274,000 miles, and recently when driving between 0-20 and 40-50 mph, There is an audible noise that almost sounds like metal or something of that sort that is scraping against another part of the vehicle. The noise sounds like it's from the engine bay or underneath it.
My first best guess is that it is a valve opening and closing for a short period of time, Which doesn't make that much sense to me. My second best guess is the driveshaft center support bearing grinding as the driveshaft spins. When I am on the accelerator I've found I can hold the grinding noise in place by keeping the pedal in a specific position. Please help me out, It's really bugging me.
Can you please make a YouTube video of the noise and post the link here?
Find out the source of the noise before you go on replacing any part.
