Hey Scotty!
I just bought an automatic 2001 Lexus IS300 with 215k miles on it for $3k. They sell the same engine (2JZGE) online for a few thousand online with much less miles (30-60k) straight from Japan. Do you think it's a good idea to buy a used engine online and swap the old one out? Did I waste 3k? Any other advice? Thanks in advance.

What's the condition of your current engine? If it's not burning a quart between changes and a compression check looks ok, I'd wait at least another 100-200k.
If the engine is truly shot, I'd consider a rebuilt crate engine over an over-the-internet engine with no warranty. Y
