I am planning on changing my my transmission filter and whatever fluid comes out in my 2002 3L Ford Ranger with roughly 152k on it, I'm not 100% sure when it was last changed, would it be smart to change it or would it cause any damage, there's really no issues with it, it still shifts good and gets up and goes when I need it. Thank you 🙂

I’d save the old fluid if you were adamant on changing the fluid, but do change the filter.
