Way too risky for $4600.. I’d offer half of that (max) for a 200,000+ miles Mitsubishi.

You’re way better off looking for a 4Runner or Highlander instead, for a little more money.

If you must have the Montero, have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase.

It depends on mechanical condition, but the Highlander is an attractive offer in today's market.

Hi Scotty,

I'm looking at a 2007 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Laredo with 91,000 miles, automatic for $6500. Seller says it has the small V6 engine in it. It's for sale on OfferUp by private party. Should I buy it?

91k miles isn't a lot of miles for a 14 year old car. But that is still way too much money.

I've heard that the 3.7L V6 isn't a very good engine. If a mechanic checks it out with a fine toothed comb and says the engine and transmission are in decent shape, and there's little to no rust on it, offer low and see how much they'll take. I wouldn't pay a penny more than 4500 myself.

Hi Scotty,

Should I buy a 2010 Toyota Highlander for $7250 with 158K miles? It's an automatic with V6 from a private party.
