My Tundra SR 5 V-8 crew cab has 223k miles and is in need of a timing belt change. When the change of the belt is being done, what other parts should be changed out at the same time? I feel it would benefit my wallet to have all work done at the same time rather than piecemeal the repairs later.
I am the original owner and never had an major expense on repairs-just routine maintenance. The most expensive repair I had was for a new motor in the driver side door. Toyota built a bullet proof vehicle!
Buy a timing belt kit which includes the water pump, tensioner, idler pulley, gaskets, etc -

I also highly suggest getting an oem kit made by Aisin, you can find them on amazon for fairly inexpensive. I used a recommended aftermarket kit once for my 4runner, and the water pump went at like 80k miles. If I hadn't had my eye on the temperature, I might have missed it just as the temp was fast rising. The biggest cost is the labor, don't cheap out on the parts, or you may find that it costs you in the long run. Just my suggestion.
Exactly why I linked the Aisin kit in the 2nd link..
