Hi, Scotty.. am a big fan. Watch your show more than Netflix!
I am having an issue with my above mentioned vehicle and I trust your experience and expertise to put me in the right direction. I noticed a clunk with the truck, when sitting at a light lets say, when I release the brake pedal and then put on the gas.
I originally thought it was a brake issue and had the brakes totally redone with new rotors but did not fix, so that wasn't the problem. So, now I checked for u joint issues. No nothing there but did notice some slop in the driveshaft, where it comes out of the transfer case. Took to local mechanic and the did find shavings in the transfer case fluid.
I have no codes on my DIC. Do I assume I need a complete transfer case overhaul? I have not had any issues shifting or driving. No noises coming from underneath the vehicle? Just the periodic annoying clunk which like I say.
Note the truck has 223,000 miles and only towed a 5th wheel the 1st 4 years of it's life seasonally.. so she really never has worked per se. In fact the 1st set of brakes ever were just put on a month ago.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your time taken.
