Hello,

I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX. my Car has been acting up over the past 4 weeks.

The issue is that the car will start but wont on occasion..it may start on the first try and i get to a location and when i get back to the car and try to start up it wont and im stranded. When i turn the key i can hear the starter attempt to kick in, i have heard a buzz sound like once and told my mechanic.i have replaced battery in the key, i check dash to make sure the immobilizer is not sensing a issue, i had a keysmith ensure no issue with spare or primary key chips.

my local Mechanic is at a loss, i took in the car and and they changed Starter relay, replaced ignition switch, i also replaced battery. but the issue still persists.

Can anyone help? am i missing something? i work 15 miles away from home and work early am and have found myself stranded several times. im a electrical engineer and i am embarrassed that i cant figure out what's going on {black}:scared:

I would replace the starter and see if that changes anything.

Most likely the starter is on its way out. While you are trying to start, have someone whack the starter. If it worked, the starter is bad.

On my 1999 Accord, I’ve had various starting problems in the latter part of 20+ years if ownership. Here were the solutions of each of those instances.

1) Relay under the steering wheel.

2) Starter.

3) Replaced fuel pump assembly. The problem was a small part on the fuel pump assembly, but cheaper to replace whole thing.

4) Loose battery terminal.

For the loose battery terminal I used scottys suggestion and shimmed it with copper wire. So far so good.

i have replaced a starter. i can remove and have it tested at a local autozone.

Fuel assembly? haven't considered that.. did you go OEM or any brand?

My mechanic usually goes with OEM or equivalent, and I believe he went with OEM or equivalent the fuel pump assembly.

ill start with the starter and terminals and see if it goes back to normal!

I think it’s fuel related -
