Watch your channel daily. Bought a 03 Lexus es300 with 69,000 original miles. Was wondering about timing belt replacemtnt. Currently runs like a dream. Local mechanics keep talking me out of it, saying they have never seen a problem under 100.000 miles. Would like to get the true scoop from you.

It is true that Lexus vehicles rarely have timing belts which break before their replacement interval, however you still want to change it at the specified interval that’s mentioned in your owner’s manual.

If it says 100,000 miles, wait till you reach 100,000 miles & then change it.

For the ES300, it’s usually between 60,000-90,000 miles. Your owner’s manual will specify the exact interval.
