Car loses power and goes into limp mode starts shifting bad. The turbo doesn't sound like it used to, it kind of putters out. I've got some trouble codes. 16795, 16804, 16486, 17705, 17608. Then some transmission codes: 300, 268, 1166, 350, 1045.

Thanks for the help!

Trouble Code Meanings

16795- secondary air injection system; incorrect airflow detected

18604- catalyst system bank 1 efficiency below threshold

16486- mass airflow sensor or circuit; low voltage

17705- pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve

17608- boost pressure control valve

These might be your problems for the other codes, I am not sure if you had any letters before the codes or not

300- misfire or misfires detected

268- fuel pressure circuit fault

1166-Air fuel ratio sensor 1 heat circuit malfunction

350- ignition coil problems

Upon further investigating, pretty much these codes are telling you the car is totaled. If you repaired the VW, you would be throwing more money into the thing than it is worth. If I was you, I would try to sell it but don't expect someone to pay over two grand for the thing, or scrap it. As an 18-year-old VW, I am surprised it lasted that long. I had a 2017 VW Jetta That had 60K miles on it and I had to replace the turbo already. I replaced it then took it back to the dealer and bought another vehicle and told myself I am never going to buy another Volkswagen again.

I hope this helps you out, Good Luck

You did not mention the mileage but it seems the car is on its last leg. Time to say goodbye to that car.

Your car is mechanically totalled.

So my car has 135,000 miles on it I've replaced the transmission like 2 or 3 times the most recent one seemed to be a winner (got it from junkyard 100$ each) but yeah I figured it has a boost leak or just turbo went bad. But other than that it runs fine.

" I've replaced the transmission like 2 or 3 times the most recent one seemed to be a winner"

If it runs fine, drive it until something major goes wrong, if you don't consider this to be costly enough. It depends on how much you like your car. I would have gotten rid of it on the second transmission but if you like the gti it might be worth putting some money into it, just not a whole fortune. I wish you the best of luck man.
