Will you do my brakes Scotty

Hey Scotty, I've looked all over YouTube for video on replacing the front rotors on my Chevy Colorado 4x4. I was told by a mechanic that it is a minimum 4 hr job and wants to charge me $900+ to replace all brake pads, front rotors and rear drums. If you are back in Tennessee and want to make a video on the project, I'd be happy to drive it over to you. I'm in Raleigh NC.

Cheers,

Bill

Scotty is currently in Rhode Island for the summer.

Replacing the rotors on that thing does look a little involved:

I suspect you'll find that Scotty doesn't do a lot of mechanical repairs these days.

And how do you know this?  If OP wants to contact Scotty and set up an appointment, I say go for it!

If I lived near Clarksville, I would make Scotty my go-to primary mechanic.

Thank you for that info and link to the video. Much more of a job than I would attempt on my own however.

As it turns out I have about 20% left on my break pads, so I'd be willing to wait if Scotty would be interested in producing a video on the job.

Cheers,

Bill

I suspect you'll find that Scotty doesn't do a lot of mechanical repairs these days. I'm not sure I'd 'offer' him my vehicle to do a video on the repair to save myself some money... that would be a lot of work for him to do, to make a video of very narrow interest (and very few views). I suggest you do some looking around and ask (try the FB page for your town or area) if anyone knows any reliable independent mechanics by you who tend to charge more affordable prices. I used to live a couple miles from a church pastor who was a fantastic mechanic - honest (of course), did excellent work, and his prices were very reasonable. There may be some smaller place or retired mechanic who does that kind of work by you.
