I have a 2016 Nissan Versa with 86000 km. Last week I replaced the original pads that came with the car with new ones that I got from the dealer. The mechanic resurfaced my (also original) roters (first time) before putting the new pads in. I started hearing what I could only describe as a scratching noise - like a piece metal heavily scratching against the rotors. Not severe but it is hearable, especially when I turn the steering wheel left. At first it was only when I would press the brakes, but now the noise is there while the car is moving.
I went back to the shop and they resurfaced my rotors again and the noise went away for a day before it came back. I went to a different shop last night and they told me "whoever did the rotor resurfacing, didn't do a good job." They resurfaced it a third time in less than a week and the noise is still there.
The car brakes fine and there is no vibration when I hit the brakes. Just the noise.
I'm planning to go back this evening, but I thought I should ask here for some help first.
Personally, I'd live with the noise. But I also would never resurface rotors. Those idiots don't know how to use lathes anymore. If you really want to get rid of the noise, you'd have to buy new rotors. And the next time you get a brake job. My advice is by akebono pads. They don't make any noise and they usually don't even need the rotors touched. You can use the old ones over
