Hi, maybe you guys can help me. My Corolla whines only when in drive, warmed up and stopped. The noise goes away as soon as I hit the gas.
I would describe it like a belt noise kinda, but could be a different sort of whine. The second I hit the gas, it goes away. Idles fine when started. No dash warning lights at all.
Thanks in advance!
Know transmission service/maintenance record? Reverse? Is it the same rpm in reverse with brake and does it make same noise? Or just 1 thru D selected?
Transmission flushed once, no other service. Reverse is normal, never makes the noise, rpm is normal as well. Only in drive when warm and stopped.
Since the fluid was changed once, go ahead and change again with filter. However, your transmission is showing signs of wear and will need maintenance (rebuild). Be warned, always the possibility of a fluid change making it worse once a problem exists. Can you look at and smell the trans fluid? Let us know color and smell.
