I had a chance to check out a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with 114000 miles that will be in an estate auction near me soon. The one fault I found with it was that the overdrive gear would not engage - pressing the switch would not turn it on. Everything else checked out - the body and frame were clean with no rust whatsoever, the engine runs great, except for OD, the transmission was shifting great, etc.
My initial thought is to just walk away from it. Is that what I should do, or is there a price cheap enough that it might be worth bidding on? Looking for some good advice from those with experience with these panther platform transmissions.
If it's cheap enough I pack it might need a new switch or a fuser a little overdrive motor it runs good you can get it cheap those things can run forever
