2004 Toyota Tacoma - drivetrain question

Hi, Scotty, I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, 4 door, 2wd, 3.4 liter, TRD Limited, automatic, with 88k miles.  It's been great and I have done all work needed myself (sometimes with the help of a brother), including timing belt, oil changes, brake fluid flush, batteries, etc.  I also replaced the brake rotors and pads.  I ride a motorcycle daily, so this truck does not get used heavily, but does the work on road trips including pulling a trailer.  I am very happy with this truck and hope to keep it forever.  My question is about what happens when I stop.  When it comes to a slightly abrupt stop, I feel it lurch forward just a bit.  My brother calls it 'lash'.  Is there something to check in my drivetrain like drive shaft or transmission?  I am also wondering about my carrier bearing.  What are your thoughts on this and what is the best way to diagnosis this issue?  Thanks!

p.s.  I am a great fan and loved watching you on TV for years here in Houston; so glad I have your YouTubes to continue hearing (and seeing) you.  Miss you here in H-Town.

Well for my experience often is just a slightly odd disengagement of the transmission because you're not using it much. You can jack it up and check the bearings on the drive shaft and a u-joints but normally that's just the transmissions do that little lurch if they're not used enough you should drive it more and maybe change the filter and fluid in the transmission

I appreciate your advice here.  Since it's coming up on 100k miles, I was planning to change the transmission oil/filter as my next order of business.  While I am under there, I will look at the drivetrain and make any notable observations.  Thanks for your reply here!
